Yechezk'el (Ezk) 36:1-25,27-38 CJB
Sonnet: “The Mountains Shall Speak Again”
Inspired by Yechezk'el 36:1–25,27–38 (CJB)
O mountains of Yisra’el, hear the Word—
Though mocked and ravaged by the nations’ scorn,
Your soil shall bloom, your voice again be heard,
Your cities rise, your vineyards be reborn.
Stone heart removed clean—
Flesh beats with new breath and grace,
Spirit flows within.
Spirit flows within.
I speak not for your sake alone, but Mine,
To sanctify My Name profaned by men.
I’ll gather you from exile, cleanse with brine,
And pour pure water—make you whole again.
Stone heart removed clean—
Flesh beats with new breath and grace,
Spirit flows within.
Spirit flows within.
A heart of stone I’ll break, replace with flesh,
My Spirit placed within to guide your way.
You’ll walk in statutes, keep My judgments fresh,
And dwell in peace where once was disarray.
Stone heart removed clean—
Flesh beats with new breath and grace,
Spirit flows within.
Spirit flows within.
The desolate shall teem with flocks once more—
And nations know: I am Adonai, your core.
Stone heart removed clean—
Flesh beats with new breath and grace,
Spirit flows within.
Spirit flows within.
Stone heart removed clean—
Flesh beats with new breath and grace,
Spirit flows within.
Spirit flows within.
