COME
Mattityahu (Mat) 11:28-30 CJB
[28] “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

come to me, you who
struggle and carry burdens
I will give you rest
take my yoke and learn
you will find rest for your soul
for my burden is light
What went you out to see—a wind-blown reed?
A man in royal robes, whose halls gleam gold?
No, prophets shaped in fire, not courtly breed,
Foretold the Lamb through truth both fierce and bold.
This generation hears the minstrel’s tune,
Yet scoffs at dance and mocks the mournful cries.
They judge the feast beneath a mocking moon,
Though wisdom’s children see with opened eyes.
come to me, you who
struggle and carry burdens
I will give you rest
take my yoke and learn
you will find rest for your soul
for my burden is light
He wept for towns that glimpsed the light and turned,
For signs and wonders passed without a trace.
Had Tyre and Sidon seen what they had learned,
They’d don the sackcloth, kneeling in disgrace.
Yet praise arose: “You’ve hid this from the wise,
But let the childlike lift unclouded eyes.”
come to me, you who
struggle and carry burdens
I will give you rest
take my yoke and learn
you will find rest for your soul
for my burden is light
come to me, you who
struggle and carry burdens
I will give you rest
take my yoke and learn
you will find rest for your soul
for my burden is light
