1 Corinthians (1 Co) 11:23-25 CJB
[23] For what I received from the Lord is just what I passed on to you — that the Lord Yeshua, on the night he was betrayed, took bread; [24] and after he had made the b’rakhah he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this as a memorial to me”; [25] likewise also the cup after the meal, saying, “This cup is the New Covenant effected by my blood; do this, as often as you drink it, as a memorial to me.”

Yochanan (Jhn) 17:1-23 CJB
[1] After Yeshua had said these things, he looked up toward heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify you — [2] just as you gave him authority over all mankind, so that he might give eternal life to all those whom you have given him. [3] And eternal life is this: to know you, the one true God, and him whom you sent, Yeshua the Messiah. [4] “I glorified you on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. [5] Now, Father, glorify me alongside yourself. Give me the same glory I had with you before the world existed. [6] “I made your name known to the people you gave me out of the world. They were yours, you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. [7] Now they know that everything you have given me is from you, [8] because the words you gave me I have given to them, and they have received them. They have really come to know that I came from you, and they have come to trust that you sent me. [9] “I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given to me, because they are yours. [10] Indeed, all I have is yours, and all you have is mine, and in them I have been glorified. [11] Now I am no longer in the world. They are in the world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, guard them by the power of your name, which you have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we are. [12] When I was with them, I guarded them by the power of your name, which you have given to me; yes, I kept watch over them; and not one of them was destroyed (except the one meant for destruction, so that the Tanakh might be fulfilled). [13] But now, I am coming to you; and I say these things while I am still in the world so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves. [14] “I have given them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world — just as I myself do not belong to the world. [15] I don’t ask you to take them out of the world, but to protect them from the Evil One. [16] They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. [17] Set them apart for holiness by means of the truth — your word is truth. [18] Just as you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. [19] On their behalf I am setting myself apart for holiness, so that they too may be set apart for holiness by means of the truth. [20] “I pray not only for these, but also for those who will trust in me because of their word, [21] that they may all be one. Just as you, Father, are united with me and I with you, I pray that they may be united with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. [22] The glory which you have given to me, I have given to them; so that they may be one, just as we are one — [23] I united with them and you with me, so that they may be completely one, and the world thus realize that you sent me, and that you have loved them just as you have loved me.

Messianic Jews (Heb) 11:1-16 CJB
[1] Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see. [2] It was for this that Scripture attested the merit of the people of old. [3] By trusting, we understand that the universe was created through a spoken word of God, so that what is seen did not come into being out of existing phenomena. [4] By trusting, Hevel offered a greater sacrifice than Kayin; because of this, he was attested as righteous, with God giving him this testimony on the ground of his gifts. Through having trusted, he still continues to speak, even though he is dead. [5] By trusting, Hanokh was taken away from this life without seeing death — “He was not to be found, because God took him away” — for he has been attested as having been, prior to being taken away, well pleasing to God. [6] And without trusting, it is impossible to be well pleasing to God, because whoever approaches him must trust that he does exist and that he becomes a Rewarder to those who seek him out. [7] By trusting, Noach, after receiving divine warning about things as yet unseen, was filled with holy fear and built an ark to save his household. Through this trusting, he put the world under condemnation and received the righteousness that comes from trusting. [8] By trusting, Avraham obeyed, after being called to go out to a place which God would give him as a possession; indeed, he went out without knowing where he was going. [9] By trusting, he lived as a temporary resident in the Land of the promise, as if it were not his, staying in tents with Yitz’chak and Ya‘akov, who were to receive what was promised along with him. [10] For he was looking forward to the city with permanent foundations, of which the architect and builder is God. [11] By trusting, he received potency to father a child, even when he was past the age for it, as was Sarah herself; because he regarded the One who had made the promise as trustworthy. [12] Therefore this one man, who was virtually dead, fathered descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and as countless as the grains of the sand on the seashore. [13] All these people kept on trusting until they died, without receiving what had been promised. They had only seen it and welcomed it from a distance, while acknowledging that they were aliens and temporary residents on the earth. [14] For people who speak this way make it clear that they are looking for a fatherland. [15] Now if they were to keep recalling the one they left, they would have an opportunity to return; [16] but as it is, they aspire to a better fatherland, a heavenly one. This is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

2 Corinthians (2 Co) 4:3-6 CJB
[3] So if indeed our Good News is veiled, it is veiled only to those in the process of being lost. [4] They do not come to trust because the god of the ‘olam hazeh has blinded their minds, in order to prevent them from seeing the light shining from the Good News about the glory of the Messiah, who is the image of God. [5] For what we are proclaiming is not ourselves, but the Messiah Yeshua as Lord, with ourselves as slaves for you because of Yeshua. [6] For it is the God who once said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has made his light shine in our hearts, the light of the knowledge of God’s glory shining in the face of the Messiah Yeshua.

Romans (Rom) 6:15-18 CJB
[15] Therefore, what conclusion should we reach? “Let’s go on sinning, because we’re not under legalism but under grace”? Heaven forbid! [16] Don’t you know that if you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, then, of the one whom you are obeying, you are slaves — whether of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to being made righteous? [17] By God’s grace, you, who were once slaves to sin, obeyed from your heart the pattern of teaching to which you were exposed; [18] and after you had been set free from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.

Ya'akov (Jas) 4:4-5 CJB
[4] You unfaithful wives! Don’t you know that loving the world is hating God? Whoever chooses to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy! [5] Or do you suppose the Scripture speaks in vain when it says that there is a spirit in us which longs to envy?

1 Yochanan (1 Jo) 2:15-17 CJB
[15] Do not love the world or the things of the world. If someone loves the world, then love for the Father is not in him; [16] because all the things of the world — the desires of the old nature, the desires of the eyes, and the pretensions of life — are not from the Father but from the world. [17] And the world is passing away, along with its desires. But whoever does God’s will remains forever.

Sonnet: The High Priestly Prayer

1 Now lifts the Son His eyes toward heaven’s gate,
2 “The hour has come—reveal Thy glory’s light,
3 That I may glorify Thee, seal Thy fate,
4 And share the life we knew before the night.”

5 “I’ve shown Thy name to those drawn from the earth,
6 They held Thy word and knew from whom I came.
7 All that I have was Thine and proved their worth,
8 They’ve kept Thy truth and trusted in Thy name.”

9 “I pray for them—not for the world I plead—
10 But for these souls Thou gavest unto Me.
11 I stay no longer; guard them in their need,
12 That they in us may dwell in unity.”

13 “I speak these things with joy to them revealed:
14 Though hated by the world, in truth they’re sealed.”
